I let go of reminders of addictions.
There is no use for them in my life because I know that I am far stronger than my cravings.
Instead, I focus on what I know to be true as I move into a healthier lifestyle.
I know that cravings are an inevitable part of addiction and that sometimes they can be so powerful that they eclipse all else.
At these times, there is only so much I can do to make them disappear, so I simply ride them out.
I do not degrade myself for having cravings because I know that it is my actions that matter.
I do not pretend that things are easy when they are not.
I know that being honest with my feelings and admitting my struggles yields ever-increasing maturity, which helps me on my journey toward recovery.
I know that I am not alone. I have let go of the idea that no one else would understand.
In reality, I know that many, many people have gone through the same struggles as me.
They understand very well what it is like and they are more than willing to help me through this time in my life, when I allow them to.
I seek out these people and take advantage of their support because I know that by being open, honest, and surrounded by understanding individuals, I can develop into the multi-dimensional, healthy person that I was created to be.
