One of the biggest sources of anxiety and fear is work stress and it usually falls into four categories:
- Work overload

Don’t despair, there really are things you can do to relieve work stress.
Most of them are easy enough you can start today and begin seeing results immediately.
Overloaded And Overwhelmed
If you’re feeling overwhelmed by your workload, the first step should be to examine your schedule.
Maybe you can change your routine or rearrange your schedule so you have more time in the day to get the job done.
Perhaps there are some tasks you can eliminate or spend less time on.
You can also try to delegate the work to others in your office or even outsource some work to freelancers online.
If you’re still feeling swamped, you’ll want to speak to your boss.
Communication is the key to working things out and finding a way to lighten your load.
Co-Workers Who Don’t See Eye to Eye
There are always going to be difficult co-workers at every job. It’s something you’ll face no matter where you work.
Even if there’s someone who is just a pain to deal with for one reason or another, you don’t have to let it stress you out.
If you have a co-worker that’s continually trying to ruffle your feathers, confront the issue.
You may want to do this with your boss present as to avoid any chance the difficult co-worker can turn on you or say things that didn’t really happen.

Okay, what do you do when your boss is demanding?
Remember, your boss is your boss and it’s usually not wise to come across in a confrontational manner.
However, you can try talking to them in a peaceful, non-confrontational tone.
To do this, schedule a meeting ahead of time and write out your thoughts.
This will help you state your case and stay on topic.
Stick to the issues and the issues only.
Never place blame or come across as if you know better than your boss.
This kind of talk could only lead to a worse situation, if not get you fired.
However, if speaking your mind doesn’t seem to make your boss any less demanding, then you’ll have to let it roll off your back.
Easier said than done, I know. But, it can be done with determination and effort.
Questioning Your Future
Right now, probably the biggest cause of stress in the workplace is fear of uncertainty in these tough economic times.
Even if you’ve done everything to ensure your position at your company, like increasing your value as an employee, there are still no guarantees in this economy.
So, what can you do to help relieve some of the stress and fear?
One thing you can do is start preparing for the future.
Perhaps you could start taking classes at your local community college to learn a new skill or trade.
You could also start building an online business.
Even though the economy is struggling, online businesses are booming. If you make crafts or jewelry, or you’re artsy, you can start selling items on eBay or open an Etsy shop.
There are many ways you can begin securing your future now. All it takes is a little research and planning.
Let it Go! Release Your Frustration
The best way to relieve work related stress is to work out regularly.
Getting regular exercise helps relieve stress of any sort, but especially work related stress.

Frustration is my foe. Therefore I nip it in the bud.

Because I let go of the idea that I can somehow mold people or situations to my liking, I am free from the stress of feeling responsible for things outside of my control.

I free myself of the stress to be everything for my family. They love me for who I am.
I free myself of the need to be a super hero because I know that it is in my family’s best interest for me to teach them to be self-sufficient.
My children need to know that they are not responsible for my happiness.
Yes, they definitely add to it!
But by developing other areas in my life, I free them of the pressure of feeling that my happiness depends upon them.
My children look to me as an example of what it means to be an adult, and they need me to demonstrate the path to a fulfilling life.
By allowing them to see me as a whole person rather than a slave, I am freeing them to be equally self-fulfilled.
My example provides a model of healthy adult living from which they can draw as they branch out and discover their own interests and purposes.
By having them take some responsibility for their own well being in doing age appropriate tasks, I allow them the chance to develop both skills and confidence.
Even if I may be able to do a task more efficiently, I allow them the opportunity for the growth and personal development that comes from stretching themselves.
I recognize the difference between being reliance and being loved.
I know that my children will rely on me less and less the older they get.
This is a good thing.
I set them free to be all they can be, knowing they love me not for what I do for them, but for who I am.

Stress challenges me to do more and be more.
A healthy dose of stress is something I can use to motivate myself to achieve great things.
Stress is the propeller that energizes me to fly over any challenges.
Deadlines and expectations keep me on course.
I push myself because I believe that I can accomplish anything I set my mind to.
The more I am pushed, the further I go.
I have the right amount of stress on my shoulders that encourages me to excel, rather than to settle for mediocre work.
I embrace pressure because it keeps me from becoming complacent.
When I feel pressured, I innately want to push back. I use that additional force to go further than I thought I could go.
A gentle pressure is all I need to work harder.
When I am under stress, I feel like I am competing against my own previous performances.
Being competitive is part of my nature and I always welcome a daring challenge without fear.
When I feel challenged by stress, I put on my fighting gloves and give it all I’ve got.
When life throws me a curve ball, I use hard work and determination to hit it out of the ballpark.
My performance is enhanced when I know that there are high expectations on me.
I aim to exceed expectations because my goal is to astound.
Stress keeps me active and energized.
When I am working under stress, I do not have time to stop and feel sorry for myself; instead, something inside me rises up and I achieve more than I ever imagined.

What Is Anxiety?
Do you feel anxious before a dental visit or starting something new?
Have you gotten the jitters before speaking in front of a large group or sweaty palms when thinking about the future?
These are common reactions when faced with something that’s scary or unfamiliar and it doesn’t necessarily mean that anything is wrong.
However, some people suffer from a more severe form of anxiety that causes more serious physical symptoms.
To better understand if your anxious feelings could be a sign of an anxiety or panic disorder, let’s take a look at some of the symptoms:
If you feel your heart is racing and you can’t breathe correctly, this can be a symptom of anxiety that is severe enough for you to get professional help.
Some people have uncontrollable fears of things like crowded places, driving, or germs that cause complete avoidance of places or situations.
The consistent inability to concentrate can be a symptom of anxiety.
This must be consistent behavior, and not just on those occasions when you lack sleep or are hungry, for instance.
Nervous behaviors, such as walking around the same area over and over again or twitching your fingers or toes repetitively, can be a symptom.
A feeling a doom or that something will happen to you, such as an accident, heart attack, or even death, can be symptoms of an anxiety disorder or panic disorder.
Numbness in your hands, fingers, toes, and legs or feeling like you can’t stand are also common symptoms.
If you find you have trouble swallowing or unusual dry mouth episodes, these may be indications of anxiety.
Fear of people around you and the desire to be alone are feelings that many anxiety sufferers face.
The inability to leave your home can be a symptom of a severe anxiety or panic disorder.
If your normal activities become overwhelming to you, you could be suffering from anxiety or a panic disorder.
The good news is these symptoms and conditions are no longer thought of as being something people shouldn’t reveal or talk about.
There’s help for you if you suffer from anxiety.
Many mental health clinics and hospitals offer affordable help if you’re on a lower or fixed income.
Your health insurance may help you get treatment, and they cannot reveal your medical treatment to your employer.

When I feel frustrated, I allow myself to stop and make the task easier by taking it in stride.
When I feel frustrated with a project, I stop and take a step back.
By taking some time to reflect and refresh my mind, I get back on track quickly and easily.
First of all, I make sure I have a clear picture of my goal.
When I find myself wandering in circles, I take the time to clarify my goals and then lay out a plan.
I break the project into manageable pieces and set mini-goals: things I want to accomplish today, this week, or this month.
Broken down in this manner, it is far easier to see my progress and to keep on track.
Also, in setting the steps I’m going to take, I analyze whether I have the tools, skills and support I need to complete this project successfully.
If not, I go get them!
I may have to invest time or money doing so, but I know that productivity doesn’t just happen. It’s nurtured.
And so I invest in the tools I need for my own success.
Lastly, I get started.
Once I am clear on my goals, have laid out a plan, and have gathered up all that I need, I simply take action and begin because I know that the power of momentum will carry me forward to victory.

Stressful moments do not blind me from what is true.
I am confident in my beliefs, so stress does not blind me from what I know to be true.
I know, for example, that with the right attitude, mistakes are merely stepping stones to greater things.
I have let go of the idea that I have to get everything right the first time I try.
I let go of the paralysis that comes from expecting perfection and, instead, I am content with putting my best foot forward.
Even when I make mistakes, I know that I am moving in the right direction.
I am also confident in the love of my family.
We may sometimes disagree with each other, but I know that we are bonded far deeper than any friendship. We will always be there for each other.
Because I know this to be true, I have a solid foundation to rely on in the face of stress.
I also take comfort in the presence of the Divine.
While I have much left to learn, I know that my Creator is an ever-present reality in my life.
I trust that my Creator will help me create something beautiful and meaningful from whatever challenges come my way.
