Are you lacking inspiration in your life?

Do you forget why you get out of bed in the morning?

Is a lack of inspiration zapping you of all your energy, creativity, and motivation?

If so, you’re not alone.

Many people feel that they are living without inspiration, but they don’t have to.

There are many things around us that can inspire us all to live a better and more positive life.

What are these things?

Unfortunately there is not a “one size fits all” answer to finding your inspiration because it’s different for every person.

Even though your perfect inspiration may be unique, we’ve compiled a list of some great tips to help you find your muse.

Inspirational Sayings Motivate You

Have you ever been told something nice and instantly felt a fire ignite inside of you?

This is called inspiration and it comes in many forms.

Inspirational sayings can help us remember why we need to get out of bed in the morning and why we should be grateful for the lives that we have.

A collection of affirmations can act as your inspirational guide.

Affirmations are not just generic sayings or flowery statements like you would read in a greeting card.

Instead, they are concise, positive statements to help you instantly feel better about your life.

Affirmations help you reprogram your mind and alter the course of your life.

You are reaffirming the statement and making it part of who you are every time you say an affirmation out loud.

The positive thoughts in the affirmation replace negative or uninspiring ones that run through your mind.

Affirmations are very effective tools for finding encouragement.

How to Surround Yourself with Positive People

One of the best ways to achieve your goals is to surround yourself with positive people.

The energy these people have never seems to let them down, and they are achieving the great goals in life that they desire and dream about.

Positive people can help you stay on track and energize you toward your own goals.

Many times these successful people share the same goals you have and are happy to pass on their wisdom and their techniques.

So how do you find these positive, like-minded people?

Here are 5 tips to help you find them, network with them, and glean valuable information and advice:

Although it may sound silly, smiling puts forth an image that instantly draws people towards you, especially other positive people.

Having and showcasing a good perspective of life’s ups and downs makes other people want to be around you.

Positivism is often a difficult frame of mind to sustain all the time, and therefore, people are always looking for a way to be more optimistic.

1. Staying positive is the building block of achieving your successes, as its opposite is futile.

Smile and you’ll attract other positive people!

2. Communicate Positively.

Although we all have rough days when nothing seems to be going right, the last thing you want do is complain and whine.

No one likes a complainer, right?

For example, if someone were to ask you in a friendly manner, “how are you today?” don’t shoot back that “life stinks” or that you’re just “alive” or something to that effect. Instead, take a moment – and a breath – and then reply with optimism, even if you’re having a tough day.

After all, positive people don’t waste their time or energy on complainers or negative people.

Even if you’re not feeling all that positive, by remaining optimistic in your outlook you’ll still attract positive people to you.

3. Think Positively.

Keeping a level head on your trek toward success is one key to obtaining your objectives.

Thinking positively – even through disappointment – will enable you to find the good in every situation and attract the positive people who share this vision.

Even if you don’t really subscribe to these positive thoughts at first, or you find positive thinking difficult, sooner or later making yourself think positively will create a pattern of positive thoughts in your brain.

We’ve all got energy within us and we have the choice to use it constructively or destructively.

If you want to attract positive people to network, then you’ll notice they try to be upbeat and optimistic, even during difficult times.

4. Act Positively.

It isn’t enough to smile, communicate, and think positively when pursuing your goal.

You must also put forth actions to substantiate this positivism.

For example, perhaps you thought you could get a promotion in the past, but then sat idly by while someone else snatched it up.

This time, transform those positive thoughts into action!

Showing your boss and employees that you are proactive and positive will set you up for more successes.

5. Reach Out.

Lastly, reach out to people at your work, in your circle of friends, or even to people on the street who seem to exemplify positivism.

Ask them what it is that makes them continue to be positive and reach their objectives.

Seeking out positive people will not only give you valuable information to help you reach your goals, but you will also become a successful person with your own network of positive friends and role models.

Being positive and exemplifying positivism attracts others. After all, like attracts like.

People enjoy being around others with similar attitudes and, by maintaining a positive mindset, you’ll surely lead yourself to those successful people you seek.

I am at peace because I allow my body to recharge.

When I give my body downtime I am able to recharge and become more centered.

Because I get the rest I need and make relaxation a priority in my life I am abundantly peaceful.

My tranquility surrounds my life and I am better able to handle all situations that come my way.

I am recharged when I take time to pursue my hobbies.

Even though I am an adult, my playtime is important to me.Taking the time to go on a bike ride down the river trail or going out with friends makes me feel refreshed.

I can release any stress that I may have because I can recharge myself.

My body requires rest and sleep to function at its highest potential.

That’s why I take care of myself by making sure I get my rest.

Resting my body allows my mind to be clear so I can embrace my peaceful state.

Tonight I will take my time in preparing for sleep instead of rushing through my routine. In this way, I can appreciate the process of preparing for rest.

I joyfully slip into my neatly made bed and breathe deeply several times to fully prepare my body for the rest I will receive.

As I drift off to sleep I can appreciate the stillness of the room and the stillness of my mind. When I awake, I feel renewed and my day starts off with peace.

I allow myself to rise above the challenges by being proactive.

Challenges in life are inevitable and I am not afraid of them.

I know that I am smart and that I was given the ability to plan and problem-solve by my Creator.

I take an active role in my own life. I let go of the idea that I am a victim of my circumstances.

Instead, I use my God-given power of intelligence to plan strategies ahead of time that help me deal with the bumps in my road.

Because I am an intelligent adult, I have the freedom to change my circumstance if I find them unacceptable.

No one is forcing me to stay in challenging situations.

I stay because I choose to do so, or I leave because I feel it is best. Either way, the choice is mine.

I let go of impulsive reactivity. I know that I am in charge of my own life.

I draw strength from the knowledge I have within me to face each challenge.

Because I am confident of this, I can face each new situation calmly and reflectively, making decisions based on what I know to be best.

If I need help in sorting through my thoughts and options, I am not afraid to ask for help from those who have lived longer or experienced more of life.

Doing so is a sign of maturity, not weakness, and is an important part of my decision to live intelligently.

I actively seek out relaxation in my life.

I create an atmosphere of relaxation within my life.

Instead of waiting for a time to sit back and relax, I proactively make this time for myself.

I am aware of my schedule and I make time for special activities that I find relaxing.

By scheduling time to do the things that recharge my spirit, I become a more centered person.

I pay attention to how busy I allow myself to get and I ensure time is allotted to do the things I enjoy doing.

I allow myself to rearrange my schedule to make me a high priority.

Whether it is taking an hour in the evening to soak in a warm tub of bubbles with a glass of wine and a good book, or taking a peaceful stroll through the park, I make time for myself.

My time and my schedule are important, however, my serenity and relaxation is equally important to me.

This is why I purposefully make time to step away from my busy life and simply breathe in calmness.

Today I choose to create the time I need to seek relaxation.

I may simply need a half hour to feel recharged and today I will schedule this time for myself.

Face Your Fears and Gain Control of Your Life

We’re all human and therefore we all have fears.

Some of us fear death, others fear being alone, and others fear social situations.

If you can think of it, there’s someone somewhere that’s afraid of it.

But fear is a normal part of life! It’s what protects us and keeps us safe.

There are times, though, when fear can hinder us and stop us from enjoying life and experiencing new joys.

When your fear starts to limit what you do in life, you need to conquer that fear.

Does your fear of flying stop you from traveling to visit family members or prevent you from taking the vacation of your dreams?

What about socializing with coworkers after work?

Have you turned down social invitations simply because you were anxious about not knowing anyone in the group?

If your fears are stopping you from taking advantage of the new opportunities in your life, then it’s time to regain control of your life and disallow your fears from paralyzing you.

After all, you can’t live in a bubble! It’s time to start living your life instead of watching life passing you by.

To help you gain control of your life, here are a few tips on how to get over your fears:

First, identify your fears. Get a piece of paper and write down exactly what you’re afraid of.

It doesn’t matter how long the list is, whether it has one thing or 15 things on it.

And it doesn’t matter if these fears sound irrational. No one needs to see the list other than you.

This is about you taking control and getting over your fears.

Next, figure out why you have the fear. Try to remember a specific incident that might have caused the fear.

Maybe your fear of flying intensified because you’ve been on a turbulent flight. Or maybe your fear of dogs stemmed from being bitten as a child.

If you’ve blocked out these memories because they’re too painful to remember, a professional can help you reach those memories and decipher their meaning.

A professional can also advise other forms of treatment, such as hypnosis or the emotional freedom technique (EFT).

Now the hard part begins: overcoming or conquering these fears.

Be patient and be prepared to do some work because, just as the fear took time to manifest, it will take time to conquer.

Take Baby Steps

In the movie “What About Bob?” there was a therapist who had a patient who was afraid of everything.

The therapist used the “baby step” approach with this patient, which simply means taking small steps, one at a time, to gain more confidence and eventually overcome the fear.

What would your baby steps be? It depends on your fear.

If you’re afraid of social situations, slowly start going to different events.

Start with small groups, perhaps in very open environments, then transition slowly into larger gatherings.

The purpose here is to prove to yourself that there’s nothing for you to fear.

Socialize with a small group of friends you already know.

Polish your social skills among people who already know you.

You have less to lose and won’t feel as if you must say the right thing at all times.

If you’re afraid of dogs, take this same approach by visiting a friend who has a dog.

Small dogs are much less intimidating (although they might bark more frequently).

If your friends don’t have dogs, ask your local vet’s office or animal shelter if you can visit.

Fear of flying is much more difficult to conquer because of the expense, but you can look into hypnosis.

Also, some airports or flight schools might have classes in airplane simulators that help you feel like you’re in an airplane.

That type of plan will take more research but will open the world to you.

By facing your fears and finding a way to overcome them, you will open up your life to many more opportunities.

Every time I see an opportunity to help others, I do so joyfully.

I am willing to help anyone I meet who is in need, and I do so joyfully. I consider myself fortunate to have the means to help others.

I believe that small gestures really do matter.

A cathedral would be but a foundation without the blocks that give it shape.

A symphony would be flat noise without the notes that compose it.

Likewise, when I act kindly or generously, I help give shape to the goodness in the world.

When I assist a neighbor who’s moving furniture or when I give a cup of coffee to the homeless man on the corner, I am fully aware that I am not changing the world with my actions.

And yet, I know that I am contributing to making the world a better place. After all, each gesture can have a significant impact.

I believe that giving to others not only helps the recipient, but me as well.

What I send out comes back to me, ten-fold, sometimes in kind but often in a form that is different but equally valuable.

When I give generously and without expectation of fanfare, I expand my spirit and open myself up to receive much good in return.
