I transform my actions by transforming my mind.

I have authority over my thoughts. I carefully choose which thoughts can stay and which must leave my mind.

Constantly, I filter my mind because my thoughts soon become my actions.

I seek the positive qualities in other people because I believe good can be found in everyone.

When I meet someone new, I am able to find common interests and I confidently speak to others free from fear.

When I remove fear from my mind, I am free to take risks.

Freedom of the mind allows me to experience life in a new dimension. When fear tries to paralyze me, I pause. This allows me to feel the calming effects of inner peace.

Thoughts of past successes flow through my mind like a river, which reminds me of the potential stored within me.

If I find myself indulging in self-pity, I immediately reject those thoughts and launch into action.

Counting my blessings is the best way to focus on what is good in my life.

Instead of complaining about the tasks I must complete, I choose to be thankful for my ability to complete them.

When I change my point of view and look at my responsibilities as blessings, I enjoy myself.

Today, I chose to think positively in order to act productively. I understand that my thoughts have the power to help move me forward.

In everything I do, I seek to think positively because a healthy mind leads to a satisfying life.

How to Discover Your Talents

You’ll never know what you’re truly good at until you give different things a try.

When you take action to find your strengths, you just might surprise yourself.

Perhaps there’s something you’ve always wanted to try, but you think that you wouldn’t be any good at it.

You simply won’t know until you try!

When you discover your talents, it can be an eye opening and fulfilling experience for you.

The things you’re good at are often things you enjoy doing the most.

Your talents could even stem into a full-blown career where you wouldn’t only be helping yourself, you’d be helping others too.

Finding your talents may be tricky, that’s why we came up with 6 simple tips:

Follow Your Current Interests. A great place to start is to reflect on your current interests.

This will guarantee that you’ll enjoy what you’re doing when you discover your hidden talents.

An example would be if you love music, consider pursuing an active role in the creation of music instead of just remaining a fan.

You could take up an instrument or learn more about the technical aspects such as sound mixing.

Step Outside of the Comfort Zone. Of course, stepping outside of your comfort zone may be difficult at first.

No one likes to feel vulnerable, but you’ll also hear people saying that they’re glad that they stepped outside of their comfort zone.

The fact is you won’t be able to discover new talents if you’re not open to new things and experiences.

Traveling around the world or your home country can open you up to new experiences.

It’s a great way to step outside of your comfort zone and take in other cultures.

When you travel, you’ll get new ideas and make new discoveries, but if you stay at home, your thinking may be limited by routine.

Some things you might discover are artistic or athletic talents, or you may even be inspired to pursue new career goals.

Travelling may not always be an option. It can be pricey and time consuming, but reading is a great way to open up the creative juices while staying home.

You can read books on any subject that piques your interest.

Also, don’t forget about the power of the internet and all of the reading materials that are available only a search away.

Take Community Classes. Community classes are an excellent way to discover talents for quite a few reasons.

One is the fact that they’re so close and accessible to you. Also, they’re usually offered at affordable prices.

Once you’ve chosen a class to attend, you’ll get a good idea about the subject over the span of the course.

At the end, you can decide whether or not it’s right for you.

If not, you can move on and try a different course until you find one that meshes well with your needs and desires.

Talk With Friends. Keep open dialogues going with your friends and colleagues.

Talk about how they discovered their passion and what they did to sharpen their skills.

Perhaps you’ll find that you have similar interests among your friends, and if so, you can then pursue theses interests together.

Don’t Give Up

In the end, the only thing you need to discover your talents is the will to keep trying.

Once you’ve found your true talents, you’ll enjoy fulfillment, success, fun, and happiness. Who wouldn’t want a life filled with that?

I repel all negativity.

I repel all negativity with a positive attitude and an open mind.

My upbeat personality attracts other positive people who surround me with an impenetrable circle of joy.

Joy clings to me like a magnet in every situation that I come across.

Even when I face trials, I wear a smile on my lips because nothing can steal my joy.

My smile helps me to deter negativity because negativity cannot co-exist with enthusiasm.

I radiate confidence by being thankful and encouraging others.

Living a life of thanksgiving helps me to remain positive, even in times of crisis.

My attitude is consistently pleasant even if the world around me is unpredictable and pessimistic.

Before I even attempt something new, I believe that I am a winner in my own mind.

My mind is filled with positive thoughts, which collide with any destructive thoughts that may try to sneak in.

I lend an ear only to things of value. When people walk up to me and begin to speak, they can sense that I am an optimistic and peaceful person.

I repel gossip by ignoring it and refusing to take part in it.

I truly believe that there is good in everyone, and I treat people that way.

People respect me because I stay away from negative conversations.

My friends know that they can come to me for an uplifting word when they feel discouraged.

Today, I am thinking constructive thoughts. I walk with confidence because I believe that all things will work out in the end.

How Small Achievements Lead to Big Success

People dream big all the time. But it’s the people that take action to reach their goals that truly succeed in life.

It’s a huge task to take on, but when you break down your journey into simple steps, anything is achievable.

Decide on your goal and follow through, it really can be as simple as that.

The Big Picture

It truly doesn’t matter what your goal is, you can achieve it by combining the will to succeed with action.

There are many possible excuses and many people that will try to bring you down, it’s just the way life.

While these things may not change, your attitude can.

The first thing you need to do is create a personal definition of success. What are you trying to do? What is your ultimate goal?

Remember, the answer can be anything your heart desires.

Maybe you want to start a video game development business, or maybe you want to be an Olympic swimmer.

Everyone is different, but it’s important to have a well-defined goal.

Don’t be afraid to be specific and to list a goal even if you’re lacking the confidence to achieve it.

The Process

After you have your definition of success, it’s time to break it down and make it happen.

Success will happen just by completing one small task at a time from your plan.

Let’s say your ultimate goal is to own a video game development business.

You currently work at a dead end job and you have little revenue to use towards your goal, so you assume it’ll never happen and you just go about your day.

But what if you took just 20 minutes each day and worked toward your goal?

Here are some of the things you might accomplish:

You can research how much money it would take to start up your business.

You can learn the ins and outs of the industry by reviewing different courses and training programs.

You can make appointment to meet with banks or companies as potential investors.

You can contact independent game developers that may be willing to take on extra work at a reasonable cost.

You can research and formulate marketing tactics.

You can create a 5-year plan.

While the business entails a great deal more than these 6 steps, you get the idea of what it means to break down a huge task into smaller parts.

If you don’t break it down, it’ll seem too overwhelming and you won’t even know where to start – so you won’t get started at all!

But when you decide to spend a little time on a small project, like researching marketing tactics and saving some web links, that’s definitely something you can accomplish in an afternoon.

And it brings you one step closer to your goal.

Something Is Always Better Than Nothing

You now know that some action is always better than no action towards your goal. It may sound trite, but you’ll never get there if you don’t try.

Just think of how far along you might be if you spend 20 minutes a day on your goal for a whole year. That’s a great deal of small, manageable projects!

You owe it to yourself to make your dreams come true, so go get started!

Holiday Dieting Tips – How to Have Fun and Stay Healthy

The holidays are a special time for all, and you should take the time to indulge yourself.

However, at the same time you should keep your health in mind because it’s easy to be tempted into going overboard.

It all starts with Halloween and all the extra treats that are lingering in your candy bowl.

Then we’re lead into Thanksgiving, where the average person will ingest over 3 times the number of calories that they should be eating, or even more.

Then the winter holidays come along. Family togetherness usually equals lots of snacking and appetizers and big meals.

Also, don’t forget all the baked treats! Can you eat all of these things? The answer is yes, but in moderation.

Follow these tips to help you stay in control of your fork:

Go in with a Plan. Before you put yourself into temptation, tell yourself how much you’re allowed to eat.

In the weeks following Halloween, save yourself 10 pieces of candy to eat. Give the rest away to coworkers and neighbors.

For Thanksgiving and other family holidays, allow yourself to indulge on one item such as the appetizers or the dessert – not both.

Don’t Be Too Strict. While you may be tempted to be tough on yourself during other times of the year, the holidays are a time you should allow for some relaxation from the strict behavior.

Don’t try to get through entire evenings without enjoying any of the food. The starvation diet only works for so long until you fail and over-consume.

Work on your moderation skills instead.

Don’t Punish Yourself. Everyone makes mistakes. If you do slip up and overeat one day, in the long run it won’t make much of a difference.

Just tell yourself that you’ll try harder next time. Don’t be tempted to just give up and continue the poor eating decisions.

It’s when you have many bad days in a row that you can ruin a good diet plan.

Watch the Alcohol Intake. It’s true; alcohol usually flows freely at holiday events. You can indulge yourself here as well.

While you may be able to get away with having a few drinks spread out over the evening, remember that the calories add up.

Consider alternating between alcoholic drinks and pure, refreshing water.

Wear Tight Fitting Clothes. If you have some issues controlling your holiday behaviors, consider wearing some tight fitting clothes.

Don’t make yourself too uncomfortable, but at the same time you’ll want to feel the reminder if you begin to eat too much.

Plan Healthy Meals. If you’re hosting any of the holiday events, consider going with some healthier alternatives to some popular meals.

Healthy doesn’t always mean bland or unappealing. Get creative and try some new recipes.

Remember to Take Breaks. During a long evening with family and friends, sometimes you’ll lose track of your eating habits.

Make it a point to take breaks where you know there isn’t a plate or a drink in your hand. Concentrate on the conversations you’re having instead.

Eat Before You Go. If you’re off to a holiday event at someone else’s house, eat something healthy before you leave.

This is especially important if you know you’ll be tempted by all the unhealthy treats that’ll be available.

If you aren’t particularly hungry when you show up, you won’t feel such an urge to begin eating.

Just remember to have a good time! If you’re bummed about not getting to eat everything that you want, concentrate on all the other aspects of the holidays.

There are many other fun activities to engage in that don’t involve eating!
