Spring Into Action

When springtime rolls around, thoughts turn to sunny days, warmer weather, and getting motivated to cross tasks off your list of things to do. As you look around, you see your neighbors power-washing the driveway and sprucing up their homes.

Even your best friend seems to be infused with energy these days; she’s already cleaned out her closets and waxed her car and it’s only April 1st!

You, on the other hand, have a bunch of tasks weighing on your mind. You’re tired of thinking about them. But which one should you do first? And how can you summon the energy that seems called for this season?

These suggestions can help you painlessly gear up for action:

1. Find peace in the garden. If you like to garden, it’s time to explore the changes that fall and winter brought to your planting spaces. If you’re new to gardening, you can look forward to feeling tranquility when you’re raking, planting and weeding.

• Why not start now working in the yard for 30 minutes a day? Gardeningis good for your soul and will lead you to achieve in other areas of your life.

2. Deepen connections with your family. Complete projects together instead of alone.Make time to listen to what your kids and partner want to do now that spring’s here. Focus emotional energy on your family.

• Spending time with your spouse ona project you both want done is a great way to deepen your connection. You’ll also gain momentum to do other tasks.

• Spring is also a lovely time to accomplish something with your kids. You’ll enjoy the opportunity to have somequality time with them as you teach the values of working together on a project.

3. Reach out.Ask for a psychological or physical “push” from a parent or close friend. Maybe your mother loves to do interior painting or your friend is a master at organizing drawers and cabinets.

• Asking for help is an exercise in humility and builds character. There’s no shame in acknowledging that you feel challenged to get motivated. Those you care about would love to help. Embrace the support and love you get from them.

4. Help yourself. Plan each week to complete just one task on your list, no matter how small. You’ll build momentum each week to achieve another goal. Give yourself permission and enough emotional space to take it slowly.You’ll feel like a rock star if you keep a steady pace by finishing one task every week.

5. Reward yourself for progress. As you complete those tasks that have been simmering in the back of your mind, remember to reward yourself for your accomplishments.

• If Mom helped you paint the kitchen, invite her and Dad over next weekend for a family dinner. Spending some family time together is a special way to thank your mom and enjoy the fruits of your labor.

• When you and your spouse spend a day cleaning up the yard or sprucing up the garage, suggest you enjoy an intimate night out the following weekend.

• You’ll be continuously motivated to complete more of those spring tasks when you take the time to recognize and reward yourself for what you’ve accomplished.

Some of us will get more charged up about spring’s arrival than others. Remind yourself that it’s okay to move forward at your own pace. Whether you go after your goals a little bit at a time or all at once, your sense of accomplishment will always be there waiting for you when you spring into action.

Virtues of Living Simply

Have you ever been so overwhelmed by your life that you wish you could just chuck it all and live a simpler existence?

What’s fascinating is there are so many ways you can alter your life to make it easier for you and your family to enjoy everything that life has to offer. Living simply encompasses many positive qualities.

Whether you quit your job as an accountant and buy your own little bed and breakfast inn or move closer to the office, sell your car and walk to work, the possibilities are endless in terms of how you can live a simpler life.

Here are some ways that living simply can benefit you:

1. You’ll save money. When you restructure your life to live more simply, it usually involves spending less money. The impact of saving money is great if you’ve got children who’ll be going to college. Also, the money you don’t spend due to living simply can be banked for your own retirement.

2. You’ll spend more quality time at home. When you make an effort to simplify, you clear away the chaff. Eliminate activities from your schedule that don’t benefit you. Your spare time increases when you live a simpler life.

3. The things you truly enjoy will be at your fingertips. There are certain items you love and others you can clearly do without. Get rid of the items you no longer have a use for.

• For example, maybe you love your iPad, books, and drawing utensils, but you no longer need your fishing poles, the trampoline, and a closet full of outdated files.

• Living simply gives you quick and easy access to the things you love without having the clutter and mental baggage around you of the things that no longer benefit you. Plus, it will leave more space for the items and activities that bring you pleasure.

4. Your surroundings will be more comfortable. As you adapt a minimalist lifestyle, you’ll find yourself rearranging your home exactly the way you’ve always wanted. You’ll focus on comfort. A good reading light, a cushion behind your back, and a long afternoon to spend in your beloved home may be exactly what you seek to feel the comfort you’ve been lacking.

5. You’ll experience more serenity in your life. After all, when you have fewer personal belongings, there’s less to worry about, clean, and take care of. Tranquility is the end result.

6. Your children will grow up to be less focused on material goods. When you live minimally and raise your children in the same ways, they’ll learn about living a simpler lifestyle. You’ll introduce them to an easier, less frivolous way to live, grow, and prosper.

7. It’s less important to follow the crowd or keep up with the Joneses. As you disconnect from the hustle and bustle of going through the motions just because others do, you’ll eventually arrive at what’s actually the main elements of life for you and your family.

8. Your health will likely improve. If you simplify by buying more locally grown produce and fewer processed foods, your family’s health will improve. More fruits and vegetables and fewer canned and boxed items will reduce unwanted sodium and chemicals in your nutritional diet.

• Remember, there’ll be more time for exercise when you step away from the rat race a well.

9. Your life will revolve around your priorities. What’s important to you? When you simplify, you’ll surround yourself with things that matter to you and participate in activities that have meaning to you.

The virtues of living simply are countless. Depending on how you decide to simplify, you’ll begin to experience more joy and serenity.

Cutting out the extra junk in your life will pave the way for you to live exactly the way you want, with a life that’s brimming with activities and things you love. Discover the deeper meaning and purpose of a life lived simply.

Love Your Home: Creating Your Own Paradise

Do you have fantasies about where you’d like to live someday? Maybe it’s a beautiful little seaside town in the south of France or a log home in the mountains of Denver. Fortunately, you can have a bit of your dream right now, where you live today, without uprooting your life!

Although it’s important to strive toward making your dreams a reality, you’ll live a happier existence in the meantime if you work to create your own paradise wherever you live.

Try some of these tips to ensure you’re living your best life in the here-and-now:

1. Accept where you’re living. Whether you’re in a one-bedroom apartment or your great aunt’s condo downtown, for now, you’re calling it home. This is your own bit of paradise for today. Tell yourself that you’re okay living where you live because it’s simply a stepping stone that will lead you to the place you want to eventually be.

2. Set the mood. Do you wish to lift your spirits and energy level when you walk in the door? If so, decorate with brighter colored textiles in furniture, upholstery, and curtains. Have splashes of vivid art on the walls.

• If you prefer to set a calm and tranquil tone in your own little heaven, use calmer colors like sage greens, beige, and mocha to present a more serene picture when you enter the room.

• No matter where you live, you can set the mood you want most by painting your walls and using evocative colors.

3. Consider options for your comfort. Do you want different furniture pieces to make your space fit you better or be more comfortable? Maybe you need a more efficient desk to sit at when you’re working at home. Perhaps different lighting fixtures would help.

• The key to creating your sanctuary is to set up each room exactly how you want it. This can be done on a budget, too. You don’t have to invest a fortune to create the look and feel that you desire. Consignment shops and thrift stores can be great sources for inexpensive items for your new look.

4. Learn to love the home you have. Find specific aspects of your space that bring you joy and contentment. Maybe it’s the way the sun streams in the east window of the kitchen in the mornings. Or perhaps you enjoy the open layout between the kitchen, dining, and living room areas. Notice and take full advantage of what you do like about your home.

5. Check out design websites, apps, and books for décor ideas. Look for inspiration such as furniture arrangement, carefully placed treasures, wall colors, and use of textiles to obtain the look and feel you want. Recognize that regardless of the size and location of your home, there are countless ways to alter it to suit your tastes and introduce the qualities you want.

Show some love to yourself and your home by creating a sanctuary right where you live now. With just a few simple changes and a fresh perspective, you can have your own paradise no matter where you live!

Guided Meditation: Wealth

In a guided meditation, your meditation session is led by an outside source – whether that’s another person or a recordingyou made for yourself. Also, there is a specific purpose for a guided meditation. Your goal might be to manifest something like better health, wealth, or deep relaxation.

One of the hallmarks of a good guided meditation sequence is that it’s open-ended. A point is reached where the subconscious is allowed to take over and insert its own images and symbols. In the following example, the guided part of the imagery is stopped at the point of walking through the doors. This is where the subconscious could take over.

With some practice, the images that arise from beneath the conscious mind can become interpretable and clear.

You can use this guided meditation to help you manifest wealth in your life by making a recording of yourself reading it aloud and then playing the recording as you meditate.

Guided Meditation for Wealth

Imagine walking in a field, in the soft glow of the moonlight on a pleasantly warm summer evening. The gentle wind causes the tall grass to sway in rhythm. The pleasant scent of the nearby shrubs and flowers intoxicates you as you deeply inhale the moist air.

After holding your deep in-breath for couple of seconds, you slowly release and continue to walk through the field.

As you’re walking you notice many signs of abundance; piles of gold and diamonds are scattered throughout the field. You think to yourself that there is enough for everyone to be wealthy beyond his wildest dreams.

From a long way away, you can hear the gentle hooting of an owl. As the wind begins to pick up, you can feel the warm air blowing through your hair. You notice a light in the distance that appears to grow larger as you continue walking towards it. You realize that it is a temple – a glorious temple made of gold and lit spectacularly by the full moon.

As you approach the temple, you are filled with a sense of awe. You realize that something amazing is about to happen; this is obviously a place of great prosperity and abundance. You feel that the key to wealth is going to be revealed to you.

When you finally reach the temple, you start up the long, winding stairs. You move quickly and easily up the stairs with minimal effort. The movement is so fluid that it reminds you of an escalator, only much smoother.

After a few moments you reach the top and see a set of large doors made of wood. With tremendous anticipation and excitement, you push against the doors with all your might. The doors open slowly and with a gentle creaking sound. You walk into the temple, which is filled with light streaming down from the ceiling. What do you see in the temple?

How to Make Your Own Guided Meditation

You can make your own guided meditations quite easily. The most important thing to keep in mind is to emphasize the senses. Describe what you see, hear, feel, and smell. Also important is that you feel safe and comfortable. For example, you don’t want to imagine being in your bathing suit while in a snowstorm.

Comfort and sensory detail will help you project yourself into the imagery. The images you give yourself and your thoughts around them should be centered on the topic – wealth, in this example. As previously stated, leaving the imagery open-ended will allow you the space to find the answers you’re looking for.

When you’re finished, make notes of what you felt and saw. Examine your meditation to determine what you can learn from it. The answers aren’t always immediately obvious, but they are there.

Guided meditation can be a powerful tool in your self-development arsenal. Used regularly, it can provide tremendous insight and be used as a problem-solving tool.

Try writing your own guided meditations based on your desires, goals, or challenges, and do it regularly. You’ll be amazed and thrilled at the results you see in your life.

What are you manifesting – perhaps without even realizing it?

Hi Friends,

Use "The First Covenant" to consciously find the solution to any challenge you face

We’ve been talking a lot about “The First Covenant” (if you haven’t read that post, make sure you do – the comments, and my in-depth replies, are quite valuable in the way you’re creating your life!) lately.

How aware are you of what you’ve been focusing on, and empowering with strong feelings?

It’s a really important question to think about, because whatever that is becomes what you’re causing more of.

For example think about most people.

Probably during the day they’re quietly grumbling about the jobs they feel don’t pay them enough or don’t satisfy them and they’re just feeling “I wish I didn’t have to be here”.

Then they’re battling traffic and perhaps even complaining about that, or they’re half tuning out and driving on autopilot.

When they get home, then they might tune on the news, or TV in general – which does an excellent job of focusing people’s attention for them, and directing their emotions, so they’re getting angry, upset, and scared, about all the things the news producers selected for that purpose –

To get people upset about, so they would stay tuned in, so the station could show that many more eyeballs to its advertisers.

Go back and get “The First Covenant” in your mind, if it’s not there already.

Now re-examine what TV does to people.

What does it do? It gets people focusing mostly on what they don’t want, and empowering that with strong feelings.

What happens as a result of that? You’re right – it causes them to experience more things they don’t want.

Considering that’s how things work, let’s look at what you specifically are manifesting.

Are you keeping your attention on “what gives you joy, inspires you and moves you closer to your goals, desires and dreams”?

Because those things you feel great about, and by giving them your undivided attention, they are what you’re then empowering – and creating more of!

Or if you’re like a leaf blowing in the wind (like most people who never gave this life-changing question much thought, or any attention)….

Then you’re probably experiencing a few things you want, a few you don’t want, and a lot of things in between.

That’s not the recipe for success, happiness, fulfillment and making a difference to others (which is the reason we’re all here, to be of service as much as we can).

What do you need to do to take control of your life – and consciously choose to give none of your power to anything that does not serve you…. and to keep your focus firmly within only those things that *NEED* your undivided attention, such as your life-long dream!?

Really think about that, because it’s obviously a really important question to wrap your head around.

Coaching on “The First Covenant”: How well are you using your power wisely?

"The First Covenant" is how you can manifest your every Desire. Begin using it right now!

Hello My Friend,

Someone participating in my “Your First Million Online” program has been falling behind in the daily assignments and not following through on her commitments.

She just posted a question in our private forum, which I’m able to share with you, because I think you would get a lot out of my response to her:

“I have created some amazing income opportunities over the last few weeks using some of your suggestions. I have one new client in particular who has been sending me regular work and looks like he will continue to do that for the foreseeable future! Holding my intentions to create this income also gave me the confidence to ask for the hourly rate I desired! So, here is my question – do you have any suggestions for a method that will allow me to shift my focus back to my desire and intention that I am creating a successful internet marketing business during times when life events try to pull me away from it?“

That’s a question I’m sure you can sometimes relate to.

Am I right?

How would you respond to her? (Post your answer to that question in a comment, before you read any more. It will be more enlightening to you if you respond first, then read what I say, before you then share the insights that come up for you after you read my answer to her question.)

This is how I responded (with minor editing for greater clarity), in our private Mastermind forum:

Thank you for sharing your successes from applying the First Covenant.

Your question, the answer sounds simple, yet it will require discipline and being more conscious.

How can you go back to your main focus when events from life take you out of it?

The answer is to put your “goal” everywhere, so it’s always in your awareness.

For example on your refrigerator, in your pocket, or on your key chain or near your wallet/purse (money). On your bathroom mirror, by your computer. So wherever you are, there it is.

When you immerse yourself in that focus, that becomes what you’re thinking about – empowered with strong feelings – and of course that means that’s all you’ll then create and experience more of.

It does take discipline to consciously direct your focus, and to keep it trained on what’s most important to you, such as your Sacred Decision & Commitment.

Another aspect of this is to rephrase the question.

Not how do you get your focus back when life interferes…. but “Why would I allow outside influences from taking me out of the focus I need to have?”

Because it is always you’re choice.

You have the power to not shift out of that focal point, and to keep empowering what you Desire, no matter what.

When something unwanted happens, you could choose to step back and say…

“Hmm, it seems I was careless in how I’m using my power, at some point, and unconsciously manifested something I don’t want. That means I’m going to resolve to do better from now on and and keep my power firmly on my dominant Desire… making sure that’s my Burning Obsession… and ALL I’m giving my power to and creating more of!”

Use the unwanted thing as leverage to hold your focus, use your power, more wisely, and consciously.

Within the moment.

I trust this answer reminds you of the power you have, and that you can choose to use it wisely, to have more of what you Desire.
