I can release my feelings of trying to control everything. I can go with the flow.

I acknowledge that the only person I have complete control over is me!

I cannot control the thoughts, opinions, or actions of others.

However, I can control my reactions to whatever life throws my way.

I let go of my desire to control situations and I refuse to allow frustration to cloud my mind.

Instead, I choose to focus on what I can do in any given situation.

Even though I cannot control everything, I am not powerless.

I still have tools that help me direct my life toward achieving my goals, regardless of life’s distractions.

My time management skills keep me focused and organized.

I allow time in my schedule for dealing with distractions without losing my focus on my priorities.

Affirmations are another tool that helps guide my life to where I want to go.

Regardless of what life throws at me, I can replace any negative thoughts that creep in with positive ones.

Even in hectic times, I can use breathing exercises, relaxation techniques, and meditation to restore peace and harmony to my soul.

I also use my optimistic outlook on life to find the silver lining in everything.

With these tools at my disposal, I know I can go with the flow, whatever that flow might bring!

I do not need to have control over anyone but myself to enjoy life with all its blessings and challenges!

Today, I choose to focus on controlling only myself and discover how joyful life can be without any desire to control others.

I commit to fully discussing my thoughts and feelings.

I commit to fully discussing my thoughts and feelings because I know that the key to a fulfilling life is through healthy relationships, and the only way to achieve healthy relationships is through a continual dedication to openness and honesty.

I let go of the idea that people should be able to read my mind.

By communicating my feelings and concerns, I allow others an accurate picture of what is going on in my life, which gives a starting point for setting things right.

I have also let go of the idea that I can read other people’s minds.

I may think I know what is going on, but to be sure, I take the time to gently ask questions and actively listen.

When I ask questions, I listen without interrupting.

Then I repeat what I heard so we can both be certain that we are on the same page.

My family, close friends, and I all have the same central goal; we want what is best for each other.

The way we help each other achieve this is through open and honest communication.

I release the fear, anxiety, and anger that prevent me from communicating effectively with others.

I am able to communicate effectively because I let go of my negative emotions.

I let go of all negative thoughts and emotions that may hinder my abilities to communicate in positive ways.

I am a strong person that has control of my emotions.

I take pride in my ability to stay level headed and calm, and I step back from my emotions long enough to think about what I want to convey to others.

Negative emotions, such as anger, fear, and anxiety, impede good communication.

I am able to remain calm and communicate in a peaceful way; my communication is safe when I release my anger.

I am able to take a deep breath and overcome my fears when I communicate; my communication is honest when I release my fears.

I am able to take the time I need to relax and communicate in a way that is focused and productive; my communication is concise when I release my anxiety.

Letting go of anger, fear and anxiety assures me that I can communicate productively.

Today I will take charge of my emotions and allow myself to let go of anxiety, fear and anger to better communicate.

I will convey my thoughts and feelings in a positive way that offers safety, focus and productivity.

I have found ways to express my feelings rather than act out my frustrations.

I can express myself in healthy ways because I am in control of my frustrations.

Because I am able to communicate my feelings in healthy ways, I am free to experience a full range of feelings and emotions.

I have tools and techniques to control my frustrations, and this allows me to communicate in positive ways.

I enjoy the freedom to feel all my emotions.

I utilize techniques, such as deep breathing exercises, to control my frustrations so I need not fear inappropriate expressions of my feelings.

Before communicating my feelings, I take several deep breaths, which clears my mind and relaxes my body.

There are times when I need to take a time out before expressing feelings of frustration.

This time allows me to look at my role in the situation.

After breathing deeply and reflecting, I am calm and can then express myself in healthy ways.

Using the same tools, I am able to appropriately express feelings of happiness and excitement as well.

I give myself permission to fearlessly feel my emotions and express them freely.

Today I will breathe deeply before expressing frustration.

I will feel relaxed and recharged and will communicate in healthy ways.

If I feel frustrated, I will take the time to look at my role in the situation.

I will explore my expectations and be able to communicate my feelings in a healthy way.

I deserve to release bottled up stress. I discuss all concerns and feelings regularly.

I let go of stress and share my emotions every day because I am worth it.

I allow myself to feel released from my concerns so I can live a fulfilling life.

I have self-value and I know that I am an important person.

I show that I value myself when I allow myself to let go of bottled up stress in positive outlets.

I let go of the bottled stress with exercise, meditation, and other relaxation methods.

I stay ahead of the curve when I can keep stress from building up in the first place.

I am able to avoid stress build-up by sharing my inner troubles, concerns, and feelings.

Being open to others may be scary in the beginning, but it is always worth it.

I enjoy being able to vent my frustrations to my friends and my family.

I enjoy releasing my honest feelings and fears with them.

I deserve to be able to release the stress that has bottled up inside me.

Today I will find a positive way to release the bottled up stress that I have allowed in my life.

I will also avoid adding to my stress by sharing my fears, frustrations, feelings, and concerns with someone I trust.

I consider the feelings of others.

Because I value those who enrich my life by their presence and love, I consider their feelings in my words, actions and decisions.

While I have let go of the idea that other people’s feelings should dictate my actions, I consider the effects that my choices will have on those closest to me and bear that in mind.

I recognize that their feelings and concerns are as valid as my own.

Life is like a pool of water. When I toss in a pebble, those around me feel the ripples.

Every action I take and every word I speak affects others.

I have let go of the idea that I should be able to operate in a vacuum; I want a far richer life than that would provide anyway!

I feel gratitude for the community I live in.

I know that building and sustaining a community where all members feel supported and valued requires a conscious effort by all members.

Therefore, I take time to think honestly about the effects of my actions on those I love.

There are times when I am affected by the decisions of others.

As an adult, I have the choice to walk away from circumstances if I feel that someone is putting me in an unhealthy or intolerable situation.

I do have freedom, but their choices still affect me.

I greatly appreciate it when others take the time to consider the effect of their choices on my life.

In return, I grant the same concern for the feelings of others that I desire from them.

I am open to enlightenment by sharing my thoughts and feelings constructively.

When I speak with others my tone is respectful and calm.

I know that if I want others to listen, I have to communicate my thoughts in a positive way.

My language is characterized by a soft tone, unhurried pace and constructive word choice.

My vocabulary is rich and free from curses.

I can get my point across without raising my voice or using profane language.

Every person is like a well of valuable insight.

I use my effective communication skills to draw out the wealth of knowledge in others.

I enjoy learning new things. I seek to discover something fresh each day.

When I take time to understand others, I am enlightened.

My attitude draws others to me.

By being positive, I invite others to travel uncharted waters with me.

People are not afraid to share their feelings with me because I am approachable.

They trust me enough to share their ideas and ask for my input.

In turn, when I need help, others are more than willing to assist me.

I stay away from destructive criticism.

I do not like to be criticized; therefore, I do not do it to others.

Instead, I opt to problem-solve and find winning solutions.

Even people with the most difficult personalities are willing to work cooperatively with me.

When someone is charging at me full of negativity, my calm demeanor disarms them and we find a common ground.

I enjoy peaceful relationships because I model for others how I want to be treated by communicating constructively.

I let go of all angry feelings.

Angry feelings are not beneficial to me, so I release them.

I live my life in a positive light and let go of negative feelings that creep into my mind.

I am receptive to all emotions and all feelings in my life and welcome them; however, I am able to let go of feelings that do not benefit me.

Anger is a normal emotion, along with the feelings that go with it.

Like anyone else, I have times when I feel angry.

This feeling does nothing to benefit my body, mind or spirit.

I let go of anger and do not allow its negative energy to consume me.

I have unique ways of releasing my anger.

I use methods such as meditation, venting and expression to release my feelings of anger.

When I hang onto anger it is often due to other conditions such as stress or being overly tired.

I calm my mind, light a candle, and put on soft music. I am able to meditate on calm feelings and release my anger.

When anger has lingered, I can release this anger by venting.

Letting it all out allows me to exhale the anger as I inhale peacefulness.

Another way I can release pent up anger is by expressing my emotions.

I use my creativity and artistic talent to express my feelings and release them.

I can pop balloons that have the things I am angry about written on them or I can blow out candles that represent my anger, thus blowing the anger away.

Today, I will release angry feelings using creative and unique methods.

I will replace these feelings of anger with healthy calmness that fills me with peace and love.

I can safely communicate my feelings with others.

When I keep the focus on myself I can express my feelings without fear.

I am the only one who fully understands what I feel and the better I can express these feelings the better I will be understood.

I express my feelings in a healthy way and this creates a safe platform for me.

I let others know what my feelings are regardless of what they may be.

By focusing on my own feelings and using “I” statements to express them I am communicating in a safe and healthy manner.

I avoid blaming statements and choose instead to relate to how a situation makes me feel.

When someone does something nice for me and makes me feel special I communicate these feelings with that person.

Likewise, if I am upset by a situation I choose to communicate these feelings constructively.

I explain what I am feeling and why I am feeling this way.

I share only my feelings and how certain words or actions have made me feel.

This is a healthy way of communicating and therefore is safe.

I share my healthy attitudes with others when I communicate in this way.

Today, I choose to share my feelings even if I feel a little uncomfortable doing so.

I will remember to use “I” statements that simply relay how I feel.

I will share this safe platform for communication to others who also wish to communicate their feelings with me.

I enjoy my ability to understand other people’s needs and feelings.

Fully relating to other people is a part of me that I like.

It makes me feel good to know that I am able to relate to and understand the feelings and needs of others; this makes my relationships positive and safe.

I use several tools that allow me to understand people and I am always open to learning new tools and skills to strengthen my relationships.

Listening is my greatest tool I have to help me understand others.

By letting go of the need to talk or dominate a conversation, I am able to fully listen and feel what is being said to me.

Empathizing is another tool at my disposal.

I put myself in someone else’s place so I may relate to their feelings and their situation.

Letting go of judgment is a powerful tool.

By letting go of the urge to judge, I am better able to accept other’s feelings and understand their needs.

I may not always know what is right or wrong and, by letting go of judgment, I do not need to know this; instead I can offer love and support.

Today I will build and strengthen positive relationships by quieting myself to listen, empathizing with others, and holding back judgment.

In doing so, my eyes, heart and mind are open to fully understanding the needs and feelings of others.
