I joyfully anticipate doing things out of the ordinary.

I look forward to doing things out of the ordinary because I know that, by going outside of my comfort zone, I am equipping myself for a brighter future.

My past prepares me for the future, but I let go of the idea that what I have gone through previously will dictate my fate.

I let go of the fear that has kept me repeating the same patterns over and over and, instead, I reach for something new and better!

I recognize that the path is not always straight and clearly lit.

I let go of the idea that I must be able to see every eventuality before I start out.

If I can see the step in front of me, that is enough.

This is frightening at times, yet I let go of the idea that I should be able to branch out without nervousness.

Jitters – and even outright fear – are inevitable when I step into unfamiliar territory.

I do not berate myself for my anxiety; instead, I merely make the choice to step out anyway, to push on through any fear I may feel.

I know that life is full of opportunities for growth, creativity, and happiness, but I must take the initiative to reach for them.

I do so eagerly, despite my hesitancy, because I crave a depth of richness and fulfillment that is only available to me.

I am willing to let go of my past, so I can enjoy the gifts of a new world of experiences.

I outline the big picture on my canvas before I paint in the small intricate details.

Just as a painter envisions his masterpiece, I envision living my dreams.

I know where I am going and how I plan to get there.

The exact details of my journey, though, are yet to be filled in.

In my masterpiece, the big picture is outlined with my goals.

I know that regardless of how the details pan out, the big picture will still be there.

I plan my action steps for success just as the painter plans what colors he will use in the details.

Painters face many challenges in creating their masterpiece.

What if a color comes out wrong?

What can he do?

Will he let it ruin his masterpiece, or will he paint over it with a color more in tune with his vision?

In the same way, when challenges arise, I can let them ruin my picture or I can devise a way to overcome them so I can still create a journey that is in tune with my goals.

I choose to look for solutions.

Yes, some of the details may come out a bit differently than I plan, but that is part of the beauty of my masterpiece.

The genius of creating a masterpiece allows for filling in the details as the picture emerges.

Today, I plan to outline my big picture on the canvas of my life, setting goals and priorities that will guide me in the creation of my masterpiece.

I take life one day at a time.

My life is a great adventure and I want to be able to appreciate every moment.

Taking life one day at a time provides me the opportunity to do this.

I let go of worrying about the past or the future and immerse myself in the present day.

Each morning, as the dawn brings me a new day, I look forward with excitement to living with purpose.

Each day brings me new opportunities.

It’s like I get a fresh start on life every morning, and I love this feeling!

I make no pre-suppositions about what the day will bring.

If it brings challenges, I know I have the confidence to find solutions to overcome them.

If it brings pleasant things, I can enjoy them and be grateful for their presence.

Living my life one day at a time also gets me through the hard times in my life.

If it’s a particularly difficult day, I remind myself that, “This, too, shall pass,” and I know that it is only one step – one day – in my life’s journey.

I make the best of every day, for I know that I will not have this opportunity again.

When I make a conscious effort to take advantage of everything each day brings, I find that there are more and more great days after that!

Making a habit of taking life one day at a time reduces my stress, makes my life more exciting, and brings me more joy than anything else I could do.

Today, I choose to let the past stay in the past, let the future bring what it may, and immerse myself in this present day.

Routine is like a comfortable pair of slippers, but I am stepping out to explore my options with a new pair of shoes.

Like my old slippers, life can get monotonous when I only stick to my normal routines.

I welcome change in my life, even if it means it is a bit uncomfortable at first.

I am excited to enjoy new opportunities to experience life.

Stepping outside my comfort zone lets me expand my horizons.

I can learn new things, develop new skills, and discover new talents and passions I never knew I had.

It brings me new joys that do not exist in my normal routine.

Leaving my comfort zone behind makes life more exciting and gives me a chance to see what I can do.

I am confident of success in my brave new world.

As I explore my expanded world, I learn and grow.

Overcoming each new challenge strengthens my confidence that I can conquer other obstacles with ease.

I know that, soon enough, the world outside my comfort zone will also become comfortable, too.

All it takes is a little getting used to!

Like with my new pair of shoes, I can bring brilliance and shine into my life by stepping out of my routines and allowing new experiences in.

Today, I plan to seek out opportunities to leave my normal routine behind and embrace new experiences that can bring me more – more excitement, new passions, and greater success!

Discovering Your Life’s Purpose

There is a purpose for your life, whether you believe it or not.

You may have to take several paths, but with a little digging, you can find where you’re meant to be.

The first clue to figuring out your purpose in life is to consider what natural talents, gifts and abilities you’re born with.

Are you artistic or musical?

Is it easy for you to talk to people?

Are you a natural communicator?

Do you love to socialize?

Do you love to decorate and rearrange your home?

Are you good at taking charge?

Are you creative and crafty?

Do you understand electronics and technical gadgets?

Do you understand computer technology?

Do people compliment you on your style?

Are you a good writer?

Do you have good organizational skills?

Once you figure out what talents naturally live within you, you can then understand what you’re supposed to be doing with those gifts and talents.

This is your purpose in life.

What Do You Love to Do?

Have you ever sat down and really reflected on what you love to do?

There are literally millions of possibilities, so start with the gifts and talents you were born with.

From there figure out what you love to do that requires using those gifts and talents.

If you’re artistic or musical, teaching others how to draw, paint or play an instrument may be your calling in life.

Being naturally social, you might consider being an organizer for social events.

If you’re always redecorating and rearranging your home, why not get paid to do it and start an interior decorating business?

Being a natural born leader opens all kinds of doors that could lead you in many different directions.

Does your church or other local community groups need someone to head up a department?

You may find your purpose there.

If you’re good at making crafty things, helping at a preschool or elementary school may be fulfilling for you.

Using your creative ability could open the door to a career in graphic arts as well.

If you’re technically minded, perhaps you might consider using your understanding of electronics to fix equipment or you might enjoy working in an electronics store.

If you have a strong knowledge of computers, you’re certain to find a career online or with a high tech company or you might even consider starting your own business.

If you’re naturally stylish and love to keep up with what’s new in the fashion world, perhaps designing your own line of clothing or accessories is your purpose.

Or maybe you’d enjoy helping others discover what style works best for them by working in a clothing store.

Another option may be to offer your services as a fashion consultant to those who are unemployed, so they can learn how to dress professionally for job interviews.

The love of writing may be something you don’t even realize yet.

With blogging becoming the most popular way to market a business, getting paid to write is a great way to make money from home.

Many people have started a simple blog that has turned into a money making machine.

Start by writing on topics you already have knowledge about and go from there.

You might be surprised at how much money you can make with your love of writing.

Using your organizational skills, you might be fond of going into homes and getting them ready for sale or helping elderly persons organize their homes.

You could also offer your services online as an organizational consultant or teach those who aren’t naturally organized.

Finding your purpose in life simply takes self-reflection as well as some trial and error.

Free yourself from wandering through life without purpose.

We’re all here for a reason and, once your find your purpose and begin living it, you’ll feel happy and fulfilled!

How to Love Unconditionally

In order to build a solid foundation in any relationship, whether it’s a marriage, friendship or a relationship with a sibling or child, you must learn to love unconditionally without limits or judgment.

Loving someone unconditionally can be hard to do and goes against the grain you were probably taught in today’s Western society.

Society tells you to get even or get revenge.

However, to love unconditionally requires forgiveness and letting go of the wrongs.

So How Do You Love Unconditionally?

What’s required to show someone unconditional love when you’re in a relationship?

Being there physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually, through thick and thin, no matter what may happen is unconditional love.

Physically: Being “there” for someone physically means just what the word implies.

You’re there for them in person, standing by their side, listening to them, or talking with them so they’re not alone.

This may be at three in the afternoon, or three in the morning!

Emotionally: When you’re with someone emotionally, you’re offering your support by allowing them to honestly and openly express their feeling.

Supporting someone emotionally with unconditional love also means that you’re there selflessly to help them work through their feelings.

The goal is for the person to rise above the negative emotions and turn them into positive ones. You’re the shoulder to cry on!

Mentally: Supporting a loved one mentally means that you help them think through their actions, motives, and desires.

You help them do this by finding out what’s going on inside.

To support someone mentally requires you to help your loved one process their thoughts through to all possible outcomes.

Spiritually: Spiritually supporting a loved one means you pray for and with them and help them grow in all aspects of their life – physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.

Often spiritual support is given without a person being aware, through prayer.

Unconditional love does not mean, however, giving into every whim or desire.

Often people confuse unconditional love with spoiling.

Giving into a person’s every want or desire when it isn’t appropriate can actually harm their physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well being.

For example, giving into your kid’s demands for junk food may make them happy today, but it isn’t a good source of nourishment in the long run.

Letting Go

True love is shown when you try to help another become a better person and unconditional love is shown when you still love them even if they refuse to change.

Many times it’s necessary to “let go” of a loved one, while still loving them unconditionally, because they refuse to take the necessary steps to improve.

An example of this would be an alcoholic or drug addict.

You still love the person, but when they refuse to work at overcoming their addiction or don’t care about themselves or who they’re hurting, you must let go.

Sometimes this means, letting them spiral down until they hit rock bottom.

Often you get hurt in the process because you love them and don’t want to see them go down this road, so loving unconditionally also means that you’ll be there for them when they’re ready to try again.

Love isn’t an emotion or feeling – it’s a choice.

This is especially true with unconditional love.

In relationships, you show unconditional love by overlooking petty mistakes and forgoing judgment and grudges.

Unconditional love requires self-sacrifice and forgiveness on your part and it’s through unconditional love that those you care about will change for the better.
